I made a few changes to the official recipe.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup butter
- 1/4 cup tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup Coca Cola
Sift together flour, sugar, soda and cinnamon, set aside. In a saucepan, melt butter add cocoa and coca cola. Pour hot sauce into flour mixture. Mix with a spoon. Add in eggs and vanilla. Pour into pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Don't over bake. Toothpick should come out clean. Take out cake and let cool.
In saucepan melt butter with the buttermilk, cola, cocoa power.
- 1/2 cup cola-cola carbonated beverage
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Here is the recipe I used for the cake. There are variations on the internet. Some use marshmallows , I didn't, I used powdered sugar.
When it comes to a boil, add in powdered sugar and pecans. Stir until smooth. Pour on top of the cake. Wait a bit. Eat warm or cold. Add vanilla ice cream. You can heat it up in the microwave if you like it warm.
